Some people choose to become a bartender in hopes of making a career out of it while others simply to do to make them some extra cash for themselves. If a survey was taken of employees in the business world, a surprising number would admit to moonlighting as a bartender.

Since patrons are drinking, they can sometimes lose some of their judgment, which can potentially lead to problems. Some bartending schools will actually teach the students how to tend bar with style and with some flair. Remember customers names and welcome them, using their names, the next time they visit.

Learn tricks of the trade. For example as a bartender you will have to memorize a large quantity if drinks and learn to prepare them quickly. The most common tools in bartending are shakers, measuring cups, rinsing bowls and straws.

There are a lot of colleges and universities that offer bartending, or you can study online. It is your skill that matters at the end, so appear for the interview in formal attire to impress the interviewer.
